CRCA High Carbon Steel Strips

High carbon steels contain from 0.7 to 1.00% C with manganese ranging from 0.5% to 0.9% This steels are commonly known as spring steel. These steels are generally operated at very high stresses and heat-treated to obtain the maximum elastic limits and fatigue resistance without becoming sufficiently brittle to cause sudden failure in service. Hardenability of spring steel is very important because only fully hardened springs have the maximum resistance to take a permanent set (sagging).

We offer the following grades in spring steel:
Grade C-80
Grade C-98

Grade C-80

Grade C-80
Chemistry:

Carbon % - 0.75 to .85
Silicon % - 0.10 to 0.35
Manganese % - 0.60 to 0.90
Sulphur % - 0.05 max
Phosphorus % - 0.05 max

Physical Properties:
Hardness: 220HV max
Yield Strees: 290N/mm2 min
Tensile Strength: 640N/mm2 max

Range:
Thickness: 0.07 mm to 4.00 mm
Width: 8 mm to 500 mm (in thickness lower than 0.6 mm, 4 mm wide material can be supplied)
Hardness: Fully annealed material with a maximum hardness of 200 VPN & special temper material with hardness ranging from 230 VPN to 270 VPN.

Grade C-98

Grade C-98
Chemistry:

Carbon % - 0.90 to 1.03
Silicon % - 0.10 to .35
Manganese % - 0.50 to 0.80
Sulphur % - 0.05 max
Phosphorus % - 0.05 max

Physical Properties:
Hardness: 220HV max
Yield Strees: 290N/mm2 min
Tensile Strength: 640N/mm2 max

Range:
Thickness: 0.07 mm to 4.00 mm
Width: 8 mm to 500 mm (in thickness lower than 0.6 mm, 4 mm wide material can be supplied)
Hardness: Fully annealed material with a maximum hardness of 200 VPN & special temper material with hardness ranging from 230 VPN to 270 VPN.

This is a very special grade of steel & is mainly used for making those components where very high tensile strength & yield stress is required. It can achieve hardness of up to 58 HRC Rockwell after Hardening & Tempering. This grade is commonly used for making different kinds of Industrial knives, because due to high hardness it can give a better knife edge & thus a better cutting capacity.

Application: Mainly used for making automobile components, knives for cutting foam & plastics, doctor blades, etc.

Low Alloyed Steel Strips

We offer the following grades in low alloyed steel strips:

50Cr4V2

HC21

50Cr4V2

Grade HC21
Chemistry:

Carbon % - 0.45 to 0.55
Silicon % - 0.10 to 0.35
Manganese % - 0.50 to 0.80
Sulphur % - 0.05 max
Phosphorus % - 0.05 max
Chromium % - 0.90 to 1.20
Vanadiun % - 0.15 to 0.30

Physical Properties:
Hardness: 220HV max
Yield Strees: 340N/mm2 min
Tensile Strength: 780N/mm2 max
Elongation % 20 min

General properties:
This grade of steel can achieve a maximum hardness of 670VPN after hardening and tempering.

Chromimum is a strong carbide former and can improve and some what increase resistance to softening during tempering. This helps the component to retain its elasticity and tensile strength even at very high temperatures.

Range:
Thickness: 0.50 mm to 4.00 mm
Width: 8 mm to 350 mm
Hardness: Fully annealed(soft) material with a maximum hardness of 210 VPN.

Application: Tension springs, high tesile spring washers & circlips, special purpose cutters & knives, etc.

HC21

Grade HC21
Chemistry:

Carbon % - 1.10 to 1.30
Silicon % - 0.10 to 0.25
Manganese % - 0.30 to 0.60
Sulphur % - 0.05 max
Phosphorus % - 0.05 max
Chromium % - 0.20 to 0.50

    Range:
Thickness: 0.30 mm to 2.00 mm
Width: 8 mm to 300 mm
    Hardness: As per customer requirement
  • fully annealed/soft
  • special temper material(rolling hard)

Application: Surgical knives & blades, rotar blades etc.
