Inspection procedure at BTC.

Inspection: Each & every batch of material is thoroughly tested from a NABL ACREDIATED LABORATORY. Both mechanical & chemical tests are thoroughly carried out before dispatch of any material to our clients. Our Inspection Team keeps a constant vigil on the following parameters:

Chemical Analysis: It is thoroughly checked that all the elements are within the required norms. The material is out right rejected if there is any deviation as regards the chemical composition.

Mechanical Properties: Hardness, tensile strength, elongation & yield are tested and compared with the clients’ requirement. The material is dispatched only if the results are satisfactory.

Dimensions: Thickness, width and length (in case of cut length material) are inspected minutely. It is keenly observed, that no dimensions cross the tolerance limit.

steel companies step up coaking coal imports on easing of price.

Indian steel companies show trends of increasing coking coal imports as better supplies have helped ease prices. The steel makers want to sign contracts quickly at prevailing rates, expecting future price surge, said analysts and traders.

In international markets, coking coal prices have come down by $10-$15 per tonne to $220 a tonne as supplies from Australia, the biggest producer, improved recently after miners there have restarted operation after sorting out labour strike and other problems.

“Indian steel makers want to sign long term contracts at current prices as they believe coking coal prices are set to rise again in future. By this, the steel manufacturers can have an edge as far as input cost is concerned,” said Aurobindo Prasad Gayan, chief commodity and currency analyst with Karvy Comtrade.

Indian steel market entranced under the shadow of pessimism – 08 Jun, 2012

Silhouetted against an abysmal Q4 performance of only 5.3% economic growth June 6th was epoch making with PMO and Planning Commission addressing core issue hampering the economic growth in India. An obvious political tick in the preceding days by Congress Working Committee meet pushed the slumberous government into action.

If it was for the political compulsions to catalyse brainstorming on the economic paralysis a starved market took it with a pinch of optimism by rallying nearly 4.5% in the last 2 days. Gasping for breath market reacted predictably however it would be premature to verdict a pattern lest it becomes a case of biting more than it can chew.

Hardened Tempered Steel Strip.

Hardening and Tempering is a thermal process that strengthens steel through a controlled heating and cooling process.

This process will result in improved mechanical properties and give a tougher more durable product. The hardening process involves heating the steel to above the critical temperature for the given grade and then rapidly cooling. Whilst this process achieves the highest mechanical stengths and hardness’s, steel in this condition is extremely brittle and therefore requires further treatment in the form of tempering. This consists of reheating the steel to a lower temperature and holding the steel at the given temperature for a given period of time. As with traditional annealing (used to soften steels) this process is conducted in an inert atmosphere to avoid oxidation.

The exact temperature and processing times vary with given grades of steel and the process is very specialized.

These strips are available in various Grades and Thickness. For detailed information, visit us at, www.btstrips.com
